What makes working at BlackRock different from other companies in Edinburgh’s tech scene?

Our Edinburgh office was our first international office opening back in 1998. The office is a hub for innovation and collaboration and is comprised of employees from Investments, Aladdin, Operations and Corporate Functions and supports much of our International Business. As a technologist in our Edinburgh office, you will get the opportunity to work with teams across the business and colleagues from across the globe.

How does BlackRock support women in tech, both within your teams and in the broader community?

We have 17 employee, professional, and impact networks from our Women’s Initiative and Allies networks, Families and Allies network to our Green Team Network, and many in between. Our employee networks are employee-led and run creating an opportunity to employees to enhance and shape our culture. Our Women’s Initiative Network recently launched Women in Technology, which aims to help women across the firm connect with fellow technologists, share knowledge and insights, and grow their careers.

Could you share a sneak peek of the technical job openings BlackRock is looking to fill in Edinburgh for winter and spring 2025?

At our Edinburgh office, we focus on hiring individuals who are passionate about technology and innovation. We’re looking for candidates with a wide range of technical skills, including backend core Java, object-oriented programming, Cloud Engineering, and design patterns. Our technology teams are always looking for technologists with the following skillsets:

Backend Development, Full Stack Development, AI and Machine Learning, Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, DevOps.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
