Hey OutGeekWomen, what's your story?
OutGeekWomen was founded when our founder decided to stop waiting for change and just make it happen. After years of organizing recruiting-focused events, we've perfected a winning formula: hosting professional events with meticulous attention to detail and innovative ideas to connect attendees with tech teams. Today, we’re a key player in the women in tech community, collaborating with numerous non-profits and organizations dedicated to supporting women in tech. Our community is thriving and growing, and we’re hiring!
Do you find it challenging to organize women in tech events in the current political climate?
We feel that organizing events for women in tech has become more challenging, but we remain committed to supporting women in tech and welcome anyone who believes in meritocracy to our events. If we can’t stand for equity when it gets tough, we don’t deserve to celebrate it when it’s easy.
What's on the schedule?
At our event, we'll do it all: listen to short and engaging pitches from CTOs and hiring teams, engage in tech discussions, network with industry pros, run speed interviews or open networking, meet the minds behind our favorite tech brands, and explore what our local tech scene has to offer this season.
What if my current team is present?
We'll send you the list of attending companies before the event. Additionally, we ALWAYS review our event lists to prevent any conflicts of interest. Your employer won't be notified of your registration for this event, but hey, let's keep that work email out of the picture when you register for our session.
Is this a recruiting event?
You don't need to be actively job hunting, but please keep in mind that our event centers around professional growth, career advancement and recruitment. It provides a chance for both passive and active job seekers to explore the job market.
Who is encouraged to join?
While most of our events revolve around women in tech, we're throwing the door wide open for anyone who's knee-deep in tech. You, the bearded dude who reached out asking if you could join us via email - yes, you're more than welcome!
