01
Who we are
THE SHORT VERSION
OutGeek Women in Tech is run by DNI.Events LLC. This policy covers our website, accounts, job board, newsletter, events and paid services.
- “OutGeek”, “we” and “us” mean DNI.Events LLC (DBA OutGeek Women in Tech).
- It applies to outgeek.org, OutGeek accounts (free, Plus and team), the job board, newsletters, Team of the Year voting and our events (the “Services”).
- By using the Services you agree to this page and to our Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.
- You must be at least 18 to create an account or attend an event. If we learn that someone under 18 has given us personal data, we’ll delete it.
02
What we collect
THE SHORT VERSION
Your name and Gmail when you sign up with Google, the role and city you tell us, and what you do in your account. Payments go through Stripe, so we never see your card.
- Job seeker accounts: when you sign up with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We don’t get your Google password or anything else in your Google account.
- Team accounts: the email used to sign up (a company work email, or a personal Gmail if the company doesn’t use Google), plus the details in the next points.
- Profile: the role or job title, city and edition (US, Canada, Mexico, Europe or Asia) you choose. Optional: company, LinkedIn URL.
- Activity: saved jobs, event RSVPs, Team of the Year votes (which nomination you voted for, linked to your account), sign-in times and which page you signed up from.
- Team accounts: company name, website, contact name and role, job posts, team news posts, Team of the Year nominations, and bookings for blasts and events. Newsletter blast booking forms (roles, links, contact email) are stored in a Google Sheet that only OutGeek staff can open.
- Payments: Stripe handles subscriptions and one-off purchases. We receive your plan, payment status and billing email, never your full card or bank details.
- Events: we use two Eventbrite accounts, one for job seekers and one for hiring teams. When you register, Eventbrite shares the details you give in its form (such as name, email, job title and company) with us. We match the registration email to your OutGeek account to show your RSVPs and give Plus members early access.
- Approximate location: we use your time zone or IP address to pick your edition (US, Canada, Mexico, Europe or Asia). We don’t store your precise location, and you can switch editions yourself, for example if you use a VPN.
- Cookies and local storage: used to keep you signed in and remember your edition, saved jobs and votes. We may use basic analytics to understand which pages are used.
- Emails you send us, survey answers and event photos (see section 11).
- Sensitive data: we don’t ask for your gender, ethnicity, health or other sensitive details. If you choose to share them (for example in a survey), you do so voluntarily and we use them only in aggregate.
03
How we use it
THE SHORT VERSION
To run your account, show you relevant jobs and events, send what you signed up for, and take payments. Nothing else without asking.
- Run your account and send your sign-in links.
- Show jobs, events, market news and team news for your edition.
- Check you in at events and send event updates.
- Show Plus members same-day job alerts inside their account, and send newsletters you opted into. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- Bill subscriptions and paid services, and keep financial records.
- Count Team of the Year votes, apply the nomination lock rule (section 12), archive each year’s results, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Improve the Services using aggregated, de-identified data.
- We don’t make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects. Job and event suggestions are based on your edition, role and city.
- Legal bases (for GDPR): to perform our contract with you, your consent (newsletters and marketing), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the Services) and legal obligations.
05
Your current employer
THE SHORT VERSION
We do our best to keep your job search private, but we can’t guarantee it. Sign up with a personal Gmail, never your work email.
- We never tell your employer that you use OutGeek or attend our events.
- Before each event we check the guest list against the attending companies and do our best to spot conflicts. This is a manual, best-effort check, not a guarantee.
- Events are in-person gatherings. Other attendees, including people from your company or industry, may see you there. Event photos may be shared (see section 11).
- Accounts are for personal Gmail addresses only. Work emails may be seen or monitored by your employer.
06
Signing in
THE SHORT VERSION
No passwords. We email you a sign-in link. Anyone who can open your inbox can open your account, so keep your Gmail secure.
- Job seekers sign up with Google using a personal Gmail. Hiring teams sign up with a company work email or, if the company email isn’t on Google, a personal Gmail. After that, we send a one-time sign-in link to the same email address.
- Links expire after a short time and work once. Don’t forward them.
- You’re responsible for the security of your email account. If you think someone else has accessed your OutGeek account, email us right away.
- We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system is 100% secure.
- If a data breach affects your personal data, we’ll notify you and the authorities as required by law.
07
Accounts and fair use
THE SHORT VERSION
One account per person, with true details. Don’t misuse the site or other members. If you do, we can close your account.
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. Don’t pretend to be someone else or a company you don’t represent.
- Don’t scrape, copy or resell jobs, attendee information or other content from OutGeek, or use bots to access the Services.
- Don’t harass, spam, discriminate against or contact other members for anything other than professional reasons.
- We may suspend or close any account that breaks these rules or our Code of Conduct, with or without notice and without refund for the current period.
- We may change, pause or stop any part of the Services, including free features, at any time.
- OutGeek and our users are independent. Nothing on this page creates a partnership, employment or agency relationship.
08
Plus and team subscriptions
THE SHORT VERSION
Plus is $3.99 a month; team accounts are $129 a month. Both renew monthly until you cancel. Cancel anytime from your account menu; you keep access until the end of the period.
- Plus ($3.99/month) includes early event access, same-day job alerts in your account and Team of the Year voting. Team accounts ($129/month) include 5 job posts a month, the full team portal, one free team news post and one Team of the Year category. Both are billed in advance through Stripe and renew automatically each month.
- Cancel anytime: account menu → Cancel subscription (this opens the Stripe billing portal). Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, and you won’t be charged again. If a team cancels, its Team of the Year nominations and votes stay on the ballot, but the team loses access to the account.
- We don’t refund partial months or unused features, unless the law requires it.
- Prices and features may change. We’ll give at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change affects you.
- If a payment fails, we may pause paid features until it’s resolved.
- Prices are in US dollars. Taxes may be added depending on where you are, and your bank may charge currency conversion fees.
- Plus and team features may change over time. We may add, change or remove features, and will tell you before removing a core feature you pay for.
- If you dispute a charge with your bank without contacting us first, we may suspend your account while it’s resolved.
09
Job posts and paid services for teams
THE SHORT VERSION
Five job posts a month, each live for 30 days. Unused or deleted posts don’t come back. Blasts, nominations and team news are one-off purchases, non-refundable once delivered.
- Job posts: a team account includes 5 posts a month, each with a role, location, company and a link to the original listing. Each post stays live for 30 days, then expires.
- Unused posts don’t roll over. Deleting a post doesn’t return it to your monthly count.
- Shared newsletter blast ($75): one role in a blast of up to 25 jobs. Dedicated blast ($450): up to 10 of your roles in a blast just for you. Blasts go out in order, so yours may take up to a week to send.
- Team news post: your first one is included in your subscription, then $15 each. A one-sentence headline, up to 2 sentences of intro and one link. It goes live automatically (once payment is confirmed for paid posts), stays in the feed for 10 days, and you can edit it anytime.
- Team of the Year: your subscription includes one category. Extra categories are $199 once, for unlimited categories in the current year, and go on the ballot only after Stripe confirms payment. An abandoned checkout changes nothing. The $199 is non-refundable, even if you later drop categories. Nominations for a year must be purchased in that year.
- You’re responsible for everything you post: it must be accurate, lawful, non-discriminatory and yours to share. We may edit for length or format, or decline or remove content that breaks these rules, without a refund.
- Once a blast is sent, a post is published or a nomination is entered, the purchase is non-refundable.
- By posting, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, format and share your job posts, team news, company name and logo on our Services, newsletters and social media while they’re live, and in archives and marketing about past events.
- You confirm that job posts comply with employment and anti-discrimination laws where the role is based, and that you have the right to use any logos, names and links you provide.
- You agree to cover any claims, costs or losses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your posts, your hiring decisions, or your use of attendee data.
- Each company has one team account with one login. How colleagues share it is up to the company, and the company is responsible for everything done from it. We may suspend an account, without refund, if it’s shared across unrelated companies or used to post misleading roles.
- Event bookings for companies are priced and agreed separately.
10
Jobs and content on OutGeek
THE SHORT VERSION
We work hard to keep listings fresh and real, but we don’t verify every one and we’re not part of any hiring decision.
- Jobs are posted by hiring teams or collected from public sources. We aim to show only current roles and update the board daily.
- We don’t guarantee that a listing is accurate, still open, or that you’ll get an interview or a job.
- Hiring decisions are made only by the employer. OutGeek isn’t an employer, recruiter or employment agency for any role listed.
- Market news, layoff tracking and press summaries are for information only, based on public reports, and may contain mistakes. Don’t treat them as financial, legal or career advice.
- Company names, logos and article headlines belong to their owners. We link to original sources and don’t claim any affiliation unless stated.
- Think something we published about a company is wrong? Email hello@outgeek.org with the subject “Correction” and a source, and we’ll review it promptly.
- Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We aren’t responsible for their content or practices.
11
Events
THE SHORT VERSION
Events are free for talent, except the last 10 supporter tickets, which help pay for the event. Details can change. Photos are taken. Be kind or be asked to leave.
- Talent tickets are free. The last 10 tickets for each event are paid supporter tickets that help cover costs such as venue, food, parking and event director fees. Plus members may get access to spots before they open to everyone.
- Supporter tickets are non-refundable unless we cancel the event. Refunds for cancelled events are handled through Eventbrite.
- We may change the venue, date, time, speakers or hiring teams, or cancel an event. We’ll tell registered attendees as soon as we can.
- Registering doesn’t guarantee entry. Venues have capacity limits, and we may refuse or remove anyone who breaks our Code of Conduct.
- Photos and videos are taken at events and may appear on our website, newsletter and social media. Tell the event team on the night, or email us afterwards, if you’d rather not be featured, and we’ll do our best to remove you.
- Some venues serve alcohol. Drink responsibly and follow local laws and venue rules, including age limits. We may refuse service or entry at our discretion.
- We aren’t liable for delays or cancellations caused by events outside our control, such as weather, strikes, venue issues, illness or public health rules.
- Eventbrite may charge its own booking fees, which follow Eventbrite’s refund rules.
- You attend at your own risk. We aren’t responsible for lost belongings or for the conduct of other attendees, venues or hiring teams.
12
Team of the Year voting
THE SHORT VERSION
Plus and team accounts get one vote per category, including for their own team. One account, one vote. Extra accounts or bought votes get removed.
- Voting opens in August and closes on December 31. Each paid account may vote once per category, and votes are final once cast. Each vote is stored with the voter’s account so we can prevent duplicates and apply the rules below.
- The 2026 ballot lists the companies OutGeek assigns plus any company that nominates itself. From 2027, the ballot lists only companies that nominate themselves.
- A team can change its nomination until anyone other than its own team account votes for it. After that it’s locked, and only OutGeek can remove it. Removing a nomination removes its votes and returns the slot at no charge. Voters of a removed nomination don’t get their vote back.
- On January 1 each year’s nominees, vote totals and winners are archived, and nominations start fresh. Winners are featured on our homepage for the following year.
- Team accounts may vote for their own team, but only once per category and only from the team’s one account. Creating extra accounts, asking employees to vote from multiple accounts, or offering anything in exchange for votes can lead to votes being removed and the team being disqualified.
- Each person may hold only one job seeker account. Duplicate accounts may be merged or closed, and their votes removed.
- We may change categories, voting dates or rules, or cancel voting, if needed to keep it fair. Our decision on results is final.
- Winning teams agree that we may use their name, logo and ranking on our site, newsletter and social media.
- We may remove votes or disqualify entries we believe are fake, automated or coordinated, at our discretion.
- Results and rankings are based on votes from our community. They aren’t an endorsement by OutGeek and aren’t a statement about any company’s employment practices.
- Only aggregate vote counts are published. We never show who voted for whom.
13
Emails and newsletters
THE SHORT VERSION
You only get marketing emails if you say yes, and you can stop them with one click.
- Sign-in links, receipts and important account notices are sent to every account. Plus job alerts appear inside your account, not in your inbox.
- Newsletters and event invites are sent only with your consent. We record when you gave it.
- Unsubscribe from any marketing email with the link at the bottom, or email us. This doesn’t affect account emails.
- We follow Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), the US CAN-SPAM Act and GDPR where they apply.
14
How long we keep it, and deleting your account
THE SHORT VERSION
We keep your data while your account is open. Ask us to delete it and we’ll do so within 30 days, keeping only what the law requires.
- Account and profile data: kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
- Payment and invoice records: kept as long as tax and accounting laws require (usually up to 7 years).
- Event registration data: kept for up to 3 years so we can run future events in your city, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- Team of the Year results (company names, categories, vote totals and winners) are archived indefinitely. Who voted for whom is deleted with your account.
- Aggregated, de-identified statistics may be kept indefinitely.
- To delete your account, email hello@outgeek.org from your account email. Cancel any subscription first so you aren’t charged again.
15
Your rights
THE SHORT VERSION
You can see, fix, download or delete your data, and object to how we use it. Just email us.
- Depending on where you live (including under GDPR in the EU and UK, PIPEDA in Canada and CCPA/CPRA in California) you can ask to access, correct, delete or download your data, or to limit or object to how we use it.
- You can withdraw consent at any time. This doesn’t affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
- We don’t sell or “share” personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising as defined under California law.
- We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
- You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
16
Where your data is stored
THE SHORT VERSION
Mostly in the United States, with providers who protect it to the same standard.
- OutGeek is based in the US, and our providers may store or process data in the US and other countries.
- When we transfer data from the EU, UK or Canada, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
17
Changes and the legal fine print
THE SHORT VERSION

- Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept it.
- The Services are provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, OutGeek isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited as set out in the Terms of Service.
- This page is governed by the laws of California, USA, except where your local consumer or data protection laws give you rights that can’t be waived.
- Disputes are handled under the Terms of Service, including informal resolution first and then individual arbitration.
- If this page and the Terms of Service conflict on how we handle personal data, this page applies.
- If any part of this page can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
